Ebook About
*A top 100 Amazon bestseller.*Luca I'd lost my mind, was more animal than man. More crazed than sane.
And all because I hadn't found my mate, that one female born to be mine and mine alone.
As an over four-hundred-year-old Lycan, a supernatural being who was able to shift from human to my inner wolf, my kind was known as fearsome beasts with unimaginable power. All feared us, and rightfully so.
I had given up hope of ever finding my mate and because of that had let my inner beast reign supreme, control me. I was far more rabid than anything else.
But then it happened. I saw her, my halfling mate. Part Lycan. Part vampire. She was perfect and made just for me.
I craved her like no other, and I'd have her as mine no matter what.
For there was nothing more dangerous than a male of the Otherworld finding his mate and keeping her close.
But she had protectors, brothers and a father who saw me for the beast I was, and were ready to go to war with me... to keep her from me.
I'd been waiting my entire life for her, and they'd soon realize I'd level anything and anyone who thought to stand in the way of claiming my prize, no matter the consequences or repercussions.

Book You Are Mine (The Lycans, 2) Review :

"You Are Mine" by Jenika Snow continues her splendid return to gritty, unapologetically forceful, obsessive, and possessive alpha shifters. The sexy, grumbly, larger than life men hunting their women, looking for that one perfect match to their souls until the point of madness.  And here, with Snow’s second foray into her “The Lycans” series, she once again gives us the wonderfully outrageous paranormal fated-mate, insta-everything, “you are mine no matter what…” story framework I have come to crave from her. “You Are Mine” is the story of Luca and Ainslee, Luca being the half feral brother of Ren from book one. The brother shut away in the bowls of their ancestral home, a choice made by him to protect the world from his half mad state of being, a state brought on by being unmated for hundreds of years. Years of loneliness which have tortured him greatly, had him endure unbearable loneliness and heartbreak over not finding his mate and choosing to sink into insanity rather than face another day of the emotional pain. It is an angst filled story that begins almost immediately where the first Lycans book leaves off, at Ren and Mikalina’s mating ceremony.  An occasion meant to be filled with rambunctious celebration and joy, but is instead filled with tension as all in attendance are on edge at the appearance of Luca, whose unstable reputation precedes him greatly. A reputation cemented when he sees (and smells) Ainslee, the tiny hybrid, half vampire/half werewolf only daughter to the king of the Scottish lycans who he instantly recognizes as his fated mate.  A recognition that causes all hell to break loose! What follows is a wildly paced emotional rollercoaster of a tale. An almost unhinged story of desperate need and claiming love against all odds that contains a level of passion, soap opera worthy intrigue, and sex appeal that will hold your attention hostage from start to finish. It is an all-consuming tale that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you beg the universe for a Luca of your own. You will panic at the thought of Luca being “dealt with” by Ainslee’s overprotective clan. You will shout and cheer at Ainslee’s fight to find her own inner strength and stand defiant in her own right. You will coo and cry and wish for more when their story comes to an end. And while I loved every moment of Luca and Ainslee’s story I wish this book had stayed focused on them. Sadly though, as with the first, Snow inlays jarring chapter breaks outlining the next book that greatly disrupt the flow of the story being told. The worst one being right at the end of chapter thirty-three where you are at the pinnacle of Luca and Ainslee’s conclusion, riding high on all they’ve endured, wrapped around every word they are saying to each other when BAM you are slammed into plot points for book three.  I literally almost threw my kindle across the room at the unwanted interruption and remain unhappy with this new literary style by the author. As I also stated in my review of book one, I understand why the information is there. However, it is highly disruptive and crammed into the story most unnaturally.  It derails the events taking place and distracts you from the present story being told. You are prevented from fully feeling and enjoying the full extent of the bond forming between Luca and Ainslee and in places it greatly detracted and diminished the chemistry between them and the potency of the love story overall.A continued disappointed that had me (for the first time ever) skipping entire chapters and suppressing the need to shout out loud “please just stop doing that to this wonderful and deeply enchanting story world!” because while I don’t mind previews, I do mind entire chapters being stolen. Please just give me more of the story at hand and less of the advertisements for the next installment. I promise I will read the next one, as this series is wonderful, but I just really want to enjoy each couple as they are in their own world and not get bounced around from one to the other.
Jenika Snow takes us back to the heart of the smutty shifter/fated mates trope that is such a guilty pleasure. The shifter stories with the instalove, the growly and over the top alpha possessive male and the tiny, innocent, deceptively strong heroine. The stories with the magical find-your-mate moment, an undeniable physical and soulmate bond, that quickly turns into a sensual, obsessive, and erotic connection as they explore their mate bond. Its everything I love about shifter fated mate stories- and here Jenika does it pretty well. The mantra "You Are Mine" is absolutely the mantra of this relationship, and this story- and I love nothing more than a surly, protective, and deliciously sweet mate finally finding his soul's desire. It's just yummy.Ainslee and Luca are pretty magnetic together- with Luca being the somewhat feral Lycan who has gradually descended into the early phases of madness as he's waited over four centuries to find his mate. His brothers nuptials spark the occasion for cross paths with the young wolf-vampire hybrid Ainslee- a baby when it comes to paranormal years, a reality that has resulted in her being irrationally coddled and protected by her Scottish lycan lord father and her rowdy brothers. None of whom like her being matched to the unstable Luca. Most of our story centers on the family drama as Ainslee's family obstinately tries to keep Luca away from his mate. Only Ainslee's defiance brings them together- and the mating parts of this book are the best. Together they are both sweet and sexy- wild with need and passion and that ravenous mating connection I love in these books. For the most part, I really loved this story- it's face paced, super sexy, and wildly entertaining. All the aspects about shifter fated mates I love. The insulated parts of this story- the ones that really focus on our couple are delicious. It's the diversions that didn't work for me- we have a number of POVs from secondary characters, some of which are intended to set up the next book and others that felt random, that just felt like they were stalling the story. It both didn't give us any new information nor felt super relevant to advancing this plot- and were often timed in moments where I was reeling from a large emotional moment. Perhaps had they been shorter, and more focused on a character or two vs. several, I'd find them less diversionary. Similarly, the "conflict"/plot is pretty simple- there isn't ever any tension between our couple, and their family resistance both feels a bit drawn- I kept expecting a legitimate threat to their happiness, and we didn't really get one. That said, I don't need a ton of angst, but since the alternate POVs really focused on that family drama, I just kept waiting for something more climatic.I am intrigued by the next couple, and I enjoyed the core of this story and the chemistry/relationship elements tremendously, so I'll be checking out the next book. A solid series- even if a few of the narrative choices weren't my favorite.
